Porsche Tour of Tuscany

Porsche Tour of Tuscany / 5 days

Tour highlights

-       Follow in the tracks of the legendary ‘Mille Miglia’ race

-       Enjoy a wine tasting with typical Tuscan wines

Tuscany is well-known for its southern flair and inimitable Italian charm. The most popular spots are Maremma in the south, the Chianti region between Florence and Siena, and the Etruscan Riviera. Typical features include hilly landscapes with pines, cypresses, olive groves and vineyards, which were laid out and cultivated by the Etruscans and Romans. The Mediterranean vegetation extends as far as the 140 km coast with its magnificent fine sandy beaches. Tuscany is also a Mecca for gourmets and culture lovers. You can follow in the tracks of Goethe in Italy, for instance; in a modern day German classic – a Porsche.

Day 1

Florence

Individual travel to Florence Airport where you will be greeted and driven straight to your accommodation for the next two nights, the Four Seasons Hotel in Florence. A true oasis of tranquillity in the heart of the city, this listed building dating from the 15th century has been lovingly restored and now has 116 luxury rooms and suites. All of the hotel’s facilities are housed in former monastery buildings, stables, halls or pavilions. Relax over an aperitif on arrival, before enjoying dinner in these magnificent surroundings in preparation for the day ahead.

Day 2

Florence – Savigno – Florence

On today’s leg of the tour, you set off on the trail of the ‘Mille Miglia’ in a legendary sports car – a Porsche. You’ll soon discover just how easily it handles the winding mountain roads. As the route heads north, you’ll get a sense of the spirit of the ‘Mille Miglia’, both on the road and over a leisurely lunch along the way, before arriving back at the hotel in the late afternoon. In the evening, we invite you to join us at a traditional restaurant serving typical Tuscan specialities.

Day 3
Florence – Gaiole in Chianti – Castelnuovo Berardenga

On the third day, you head south to Gaiole in the famous Chianti region. Enjoy a sumptuous lunch surrounded by wonderful greenery, before savouring the many exhilarating miles en route to your destination for the night: the Castel Monastero Hotel in Castelnuovo Berardenga. This completely preserved monastery complex dating from the 11th century is surrounded by vineyards in the idyllic Ombrone Valley. In addition to its extraordinary architecture, the hotel stands as a landmark of comfort, convenience and warm Italian hospitality.

In the evening, dine in the gourmet Contrada restaurant with views of the piazza. Sample some traditional Tuscan specialities with a modern twist, elegantly served in an unforgettable setting.

Day 4
Castelnuovo Berardenga – Montepulciano – Castelnuovo Berardenga

Today is, once again, all about recapturing the spirit of the ‘Mille Miglia’. In a Porsche – on the drive through San Quirico d’Orcia,Pienza and Radicofani. Stop for lunch along the way, before tackling countless steep bends on the return journey to the hotel over the Monte Amiata.

Spend the evening in La Cantina, a charming restaurant set in the hotel’s wine cellars famous for its regional specialities served in traditional Italian style. Before dinner, enjoy a wine tasting with typical Tuscan wines. The final night of your tour is spent relaxing at the Castel Monastero. No doubt with a touch of sadness that this incredible driving experience will soon be drawing to a close.

Day 5
Castelnuevo Berardenga

Unfortunately, it’s now time to leave behind the paths that Goethe once trod. Savour your last few impressions on the transfer from the hotel to the airport for individual departure.

If you wish to extend your holiday in Tuscany in order to spend more time exploring Florence or relaxing in the spa at the Castel Monastero, we will be happy to help.
